Lewis Carroll was born on January 27th 1832 but he was not named Lewis Carroll he was named Charles Lutwidge Dodgson. Lewis was the eldest of 11 children and took it upon himself to entertain his siblings. This was when he started to draw and write. As a child Lewis also excelled in mathematics. When Lewis was 20 he got a scholarship for the Christ College he didn't do math like everyone expected him to. Instead he did photography and literature.
As an adult Lewis loved to talk with children at one point he would always be telling stories to one of his friends daughters, Alice. One day when he and Alice and her sisters were out he told them a the beginning of Alice in Wonderland. When Alice got home she forced him to publish it. It was later published in 1865 and was and still is one of the most popular children books. A year later Lewis released the sequel, Trough The Looking Glass. Lewis died 33 years later at the age of 68.
Children were what influenced Lewis the most. He would always be near children and had a connection with children which he didn't have with adults. He based everything he did on the idea of would children like it and it really influenced his writing and career in an amazing way.
